Are shasta daisies better off starting in planters early/transplantingOR directly planted in the ground please

Well I've grown a number/variety of flowers both seed and bulb.

However never have planted the Shasta Daisies :o)

As for my ques. which way do you recommend?

TY

Oh~p.s.--do they take up a lot of space? and do you suppose in the background OR sides of the daisies clumps--a bunch of BLUE gladiolus would look pretty?

The best method of propagating Shasta Daisies is to directly sow them in the area you wish them to grow. They germinate quite easily and will establish themselves in no time at all. Prepare the soil and sprinkle the seed around. Cover with a thin layer of potting soil or peat moss and keep soil moist until germination...As for suggesting what would look nice planted alongside of or in the background is a matter of preference. I however, happen to enjoy "glads" myself, and would say that "yes" they would look ok as a companion flower alongside Shasta's, mainly in the background...
