When being invited to a wedding, would it be ok to match the dress to the brides themed colour?

Shes having the bridesmaid in pink (brides flowers also pink) and groom in a delicate beige. However, even thou i have no role and just as present as a guest. When coming to buy an dress for the occasion, should i follow the theme, or dress a different colour. If so, please recommend me a link for a nice dress, thats ideal for mid - 20 blonde blue eyed. Skinny size 8 and top heavy. Any links would be appreciated.

I wouldn't recommend tieing it it with her theme - they should stand out not you - you can still look glam in a different colour - black everyone looks good in that - or a nice blue would look great with blond hair and blue eyes! Have fun
Reply:hi, i would suggest noto wear colours that the bide or bridesmaid are already wearing. wear something different.look on the kaleidoscope website. it would look as if you are competing with the bride and her bridesmaid.
Reply:No. that is definitely not okay. If it is a spring wedding then wear pastels or another color. You should definitely not wear black unless it is has another bright color or is paired with some bold jewelry. Also, wearing white is a no-no- you don't want to compete with the bride or her bridal party.
Reply:no i dont think that you should wear a dress that is the same color as her brides mades. That is for them to stand out. It would look like you wanted to be in the wedding.
Reply:wear whatever you want. most wedding guests have no idea what the wedding colors are until they get there anyway.
Reply:i suppose you can, but don't think you have to. i have never even had that thought when going to weddings. i would just go with something nice that makes you feel good %26amp; not worry about color coordinating to the wedding theme
Reply:No, that's the height of rudeness. You are a guest. Guests NEVER wear the same color as the bride/bride's party!

What's your budget? Nordstrom? Saks? Needless Markup? Macy's?
Reply:If you are not part of the main wedding party then select your own colour and not that chosen by the bride. Perhaps a dress and summer coat in pale blue to match your eyes. Your top heavy bit would be disguised with the coat as you certainly don't want attention drawn to you and away from the bride. Be subtle and get more compliments.
Reply:o my gosh if you are going to be in any pictures, you might as well be relatively color coordinated with the rest of them.
Reply:No, that would be tacky. If you are not in the wedding; then please do not wear the wedding colors. Also, in the old days you were not supposed to wear white, red or black to a wedding. Get something different that you can wear for other occasions. Maybe get something in blue or green or a print. Not sure what your age is but the bubble skirt is a big fashion trend this year.

What time of day is the wedding? Evening weddings are usually formal or semi formal.

Nothing too bare, short or revealing. This is the bride's day and she is the one to shine. Maybe a nice sheath dress with a little bolero top or a sundress with a shawl
Reply:don know

but leave your own weddin dress at home

it ain't your day
Reply:in my humble opinion its the brides day so dont wear anything that will clash or have eyes moving your way.
Reply:Please dont match up your outfit with the bridal party!

Its her day and you'll be detracting from the Bride and her bridesmaids etc.

Choose something you can wear again, and something thats a colour you'll be comfy in...but doesnt match the bridal party!!!!
Reply:No..... only the bridesmaids are allowed to match the brides themed colour. Choose something else
Reply:don't compete with the bride, or her show.

Black is always a good choice.
Reply:Dress in something other than pink and perhaps buy yourself a pretty suit that you can get some good use of later ... maybe pale blue velvet ... and wear a flower ....
Reply:I think you should ask the bride because it's her day and if she is okay with it then I think that would look beautiful.
Reply:No...I Don't think you should...As a guest I think you will blend in with the bridesmaids but not in a good way...

As blond haired, blue eyed I think your colours would be Blue and Pastel Colours. Try to choose a dress which is appealing but doesn't look better than the brides dress...it is her day after all.

Sorry I can't provide a link as I am in a hurry typing this....
Reply:id dress a different colour

yea you should go with the themed colours or some thing simular because if you dont you will stick you like a sore thumb! and really who wants that! if u have a big chest dont go strapless because they will just look nasty!

take the urls and enter them into you adress bar! good luck
Reply:No, I wouldn't !! It's tacky!!! And u will be the talk of the night. Don't spoil it for the bride. Remember it's her day not yours!!!!!!
Reply:well i havent been to TOO many weddings, but I personally think it would be a little tacky to match if youre not in the wedding... the best place for online shopping is davidsbridal.com, if youre not worried about cost too much.
