Do things have to have a purpose to be beautiful?

I saw an aeroplane along a curved path ascending into blue skies through fleecy clouds, and I knew that this elegance of the plane is purposeful – to efficiently and safely fly through air. Then I see flowers, they said that the colours and symmetric petals are in fact to attract specific kinds bees and butterflies for pollination.

I then think - why do flowers look beautiful to us humans, and why do we make things look beautiful beyond their purpose?

And is there a thing of pure beauty, and just that, in this world?

Do things have to have a purpose to be beautiful?
i guess they are there to be admired

they will also make you think about life in general

and they make you strive for excellence in comparison
Reply:everything has its own beauty , every woman has her own beauty ...and u see things beautiful cuz u see them from inside and i guess u have too much beauty inside...

Reply:If the flower's color and symmetry had a purpose but you didn't know it, would you miss the beauty of it?
Reply:That totally depends on how you see things. =) Seeing the beauty of everything is a rare gift. If you would learn to enjoy small things in your life, then you could say that evrything REALLY has a purpose. Remember that song from the Sound of Music?

To some, these things might not have their purpose. However, to some people these things could provide them the strength to live through difficult times. The totality of a thing is not only enjoyed by the thing itself, but also enjoyed by others.



Interesting, isn't it? But God made this so, for us to enjoy our stay. Learn to enjoy small things like: sunsets, autumn leaves, footsteps of a loved one, heartbeats, midnight blues, a smile, green grass, and so on..



There are a lot of things to be happy about! Enjoy their beauty, however useless they are to others. And don't burden your heart with worries, for you to be able to REALLY enjoy your stay.
