Flowers for Wedding!?

Okay I am getting married on October 4, 2008 in his parents backyard. The bridemaids dress color is Blue velvet. It more like a royal blue. If anyone had any ideas on what flowers for them that would be great. I was thinking about white roses tied with a blue ribbon. Any suggestions would help. Also I am having a hard time picking out my bouquet.

Thanks for everyones help!

Flowers for Wedding!?
Hi and congratulations!

My daughter was married in the fall (October 2nd), and her bridesmaids dresses were royal blue as well!

She had the most beautiful flowers....bright...organges, yellows, reds. They looked so beautiful against the royal blue dresses. Don't be afraid to go bold. I would go with some nice fall colors.

Here is a nice one:

Good luck!
Reply:I had white and pink Bianca roses interspersed with diamante which was gorgeous and of course pink would go with blue or you could have the white roses with blue gerbias (think that's how you spell it) or some other sort of blue flower.
Reply:Different shades of blue would be very nice.Like baby blue, dark blue, turquoise, blue gray, and things like that.Hope you like my idea.
Reply:While I was reading your question, I was thinking the same about the white roses with the blue ribbon. I think that would be beautiful.
Reply:White roses or any kind of what flower would work. Yes, tie it with a blue ribbon. If you do this, it would be a good idea to get them some white asscesories to tie it all together. Such as earrings, necklaces, headbands. You can buy these kinds of things at a store called Claires.
Reply:I absolutely think that white roses are the way to go. I'll be using them for my August wedding. They are classy, elegant and timeless! Definitely a good, tasteful choice!
Reply:I think you can look at deep red roses and I think you call it baby's breath. or antique rose pink, or fresia would look stunning, you could even mix a thistle lilac with cream roses. White would look to harsh against the blue velvet. You might even choose the right colour yellow if the blue is deep enough. But you could try an all green bouquet and be rally stylish. What ever you choose I am sure it will be beautiful and I wish you much luck and happiness.
Reply:I think different colors of hydrangea would look beautiful. You could combine blue, purple, lime green and white and I think it would look amazing.
Reply:Oh how you have a great time of the year to work with flowers!

My mind is thinking that you can have a multicoloured floral arrangement for your bridesmaids, and have a couple of colours for your own.

Some of the flowers available for that time of year are (and there are plenty, but not limited to these):

Chrysanthemums, Gladioluses, Calla Lilies, Gerber Daisies, Roses of any kind %26amp; size, Dahlias, Sweet peas.

As for colours: you can do rose or fushia, white, gold, orange (which is blue's complementary colour), red, and don't forget the greenery to give the bouquets some depth.

Good luck!
Reply:These small bouquets are a great suggestion from Martha Stewart:

You can differentiate yours by making it bigger and adding a third color; yellow would look great!
Reply:i had my boquet made out of fake flowers that looked real so i could keep them . i dont know alot of types of flowers but you might want to talk to a flourist because certain flowers might be more expensive at certain typed of the year.
Reply:White would be lovely.

Or yellow (split-complementary color).

Or orange (complementary color). :D
