I want to put color accents on my black and white digital photos. How do I do this?

I am talking about black and white photos, in which color is added to certain features. For example, they may accentuate blue eyes or pink cheeks. Or they may color accent a flower that the subject is holding. But the rest of the photo is still black and white.

Can I do this at home on my computer? I am using a Kodak digital camera...

Please any help will be appreciated!!

I want to put color accents on my black and white digital photos. How do I do this?
ah...i remember the days when we did it by hand with special markers, but now i use photoshop. i'm no expert, but i've done it two ways--taking color out of a photo and just leaving the pre-existing color in the area where i want it, and the other way is to take a photo that is already black and white and add "artificial" color with the paintbrush. i've had much better results with the first way. i'm self-taught on photoshop, so maybe this isn't the best way, but here is the basic process:

zoom in and draw your marching ants around the photo to select all of the negative space--that is, the portion of the photo that you do not want in color. when that is selected, choose desaturate from the menu and then you can adjust the saturation and tone of the color that is left.

that wasn't very detailed, but if you don't have photoshop i guess it's no help anyway. if you do, i can give you more detailed instructions. :-)
Reply:i dont know but i would love to know.

i always wonder how people do it.
Reply:Photoshop is the usual program used to do this... called selective coloring by the way.

Since you do not have the program, you are kind of out of luck, but I will go ahead and give you the procedure in case you can use it in the future or at another computer with photoshop.

As is true of many procedures in Photoshop, there are several ways of doing selective color. This is a quick and easy method.

First open your photo in PS of course.

Then go to Layer - Duplicate Layer

Click OK

Then go to Image - Adjustments - Hue / Saturation

Drag the Saturation slider all the way to the left to make the photo black and white.

Click OK

Then get the ERASER tool from the tool box on the left side of the screen. It is usually the next tool under the clone stamp tool. Just hover your mouse over the tool, and it will say Eraser.

When you have selected the Eraser, go up to the Brush options box at the top of the screen, and click on the downfacing arrow. Set the Hardness of the brush to 100% so you will have accurate control of selection. You may also need to raise or lower the brush size to suit.

Erase away any black and white from where you want the color to be revealed.

When done go to

Layer - Flatten Image

Then just do a Save As to wherever you want to save the photo.

hope this helps you

Reply:I'm not sure how to do it other than Photoshop which I've used before to do this. It's very easy with that program.

Mophead Hydrangea?
Reply:Meatball. Remember the song? The meatball rolled under the bush and later grew meatballs.
Reply:Can you give me more info? How big are the flowers. Does it bloom in spring or summer? Does it lose it's leaves in the winter. What state or zone do they grow in?
Reply:Sounds like Hydrangea by your description; are you sure it starts with M?? Hydrangeas have large ball shaped flower clusters in blue to pink to white. Leaves are large heart shaped with serrated edges.

  • I need decorating advice, what type of painting should I hang on my wall?

Currently, I have a large canvas painting in the entrance wall. It is a flower and is bright pink and blue in colour. I want to hang another painting nearby. What colour schemes and styles would compliment it? The painting I have is kind of modern and girly. Thanks

I need decorating advice, what type of painting should I hang on my wall?
I'd say a polar bear with a red hibiscus over his left ear. He needs to be smiling and holding a corona.
Reply:Georgia O'keefe of flowers on the other side. Or you either find a color scheme of flower that opposite color of what you have on the other painting. Like white, yellows, greens, browns, and purples.
    Reply:less is more
Reply:Anything that has similar shades of coulours would look good. If your really unsure, hang something with neutral colours, like soft pink and beige / tan, or soft pink and white.
    Reply:hang a piccaso.
Reply:This one's easy...put up something that YOU like!
Reply:Find an original piece of art from a local gallery. It is not necessary to choose art to suit your interior, or to match anything. Choose art because you LOVE it. Only.
Reply:Perhaps something with more white and less bright pink so it balances out the other painting. It would be good if it was some kind of very simple floral. Like an outline of a vase with one flower in it with pink petals. Black outline of the vase/stem.
Reply:Perhaps you should have something masculine to compliment that picture. It provides an assymetrical feeling. I suggest something much more modern like one of the city landscape. Try something a little darker but not with too much. I think it would help it if its nearly completely different but with a slight tint of blue to add as a blending effect. I guess the wall behind it should not be way too vibrantly colored. So try for a soothing scheme so the paintings stick out liek a light blue wall or a yellow wall. maybe pink might work.

    Good luck with your decorating.

    Flower bouquet for prom?

My prom date is wearing a royal blue dress. I chose to wear a royal blue vest and tie while my blazer is black. I've decided to get her a big bouquet of flowers for our pictures. What color should the flowers be? should it be white roses with a little royal blue flower here and there in between the roses? or should i go for the full royal blue flowers? what is better when taking pictures? and what is better just for show?

    Flower bouquet for prom?
for royal blue? you have to check with a florist site to see what holds up in the heat. I'm guessing this is late spring, and it will be out of the 'frigde for many hours. Orchids and gardenias are great, but they brown easily. Carnations hold up forever, but they're cheesey; so are pigmented roses. I'd go for a spray of white roses, white lilies, and whatever the florest recomends for the royal blue. Also, you can vary on the hue of the blues, which will not only be more aesthestically pleasing, but may also help you budget-wise; and will probably complement her dress better than trying to match exactly. Good luck! For your pocket, match hers discreetly.
Reply:well u should get like white roses and with like a beautiful blue one in the middle cause u dont want any one to dink dat u and ur date has a theme color so dont make it all blue just partly....
Reply:Go with the white with the blue in between.

If you go with the solid blue and it doesn't match her dress... it wouldn't look at that great in pics. With the accents though, it would look more like it matched.

    Have fun!
Reply:i suggest white roses with a spray of blue tint on them.. it will looks beautiful like im sure your prom date will be

Went to a florist and still confused??

Need some help. Ok my bouqet is setphanois, roses(Champagne? and maybe daisies. The girls dresses are bronze with a creme sash. Wanted to do light blue flowers with them, but the florsit telling me I have to do fake flowers because the hydrendas need to hydraded. Love the colors champange and light blue?? Any ideas. Pics would help too.

Went to a florist and still confused??
Any white flower can be dyed light blue. You are going to be a June bride, and the florist can't get hydrengas? You need a new florist.
Reply:Hydrangeas are water-loving flowers - they wilt extremely quickly if they don't have a water source. They wouldn't make it through your ceremony so you could take pictures afterwards. To combat this, many florists put hydrangeas in a water pick so that they have a constant source of water - this is basically just a little tube of water that the stem stays in. Then, they just have to cover up the water tubes by wrapping the bottom of your bouquet.

Also, the florist can't control what color the hydrangeas come in - sometimes the blue ones will come in with some pink on the petals or some slight gold. The florist can use flower dye and spray the petals whatever color blue you want them though.

I am having a bouquet of white roses, hydrageas, and delphiniums.
Reply:My grandmother is a florsit and having helpred her at the shop on and off for years I'd DEFINATELY go to another florist. This one doesn't seem to be doing the job.

    Congrats on your wedding!!!
Reply:i have seen hydrangeas in bouquets before...she's pulling your leg.
Reply:You want to use hydrangeas, then use them as centerpieces where they can stay in water. But just b/c you can't use those in your bouquet doesn't mean you can't have light blue flowers. There are TONS of light blue flowers. You have to have fake if you have to have hydrangeas. I think light blue and champagne is beautiful. The florist is suppose to give suggestions as to what is in season, how to exchange flowers to stay within your budget, and how to arrange them to be beautiful. No florist just orders "blue" and expects brides to be ok no matter what color it is. Light blue is not complicated--it's not like you asked him to dye them magenta or you are going to throw a fit if it's baby blue instead of Carolina blue. If that florist can't give you any suggestions, go to someone else!

This guy is either ignorant or trying to scam you. Go to yahoo images and download some pictures of what you like. Take in about 7 or 8 pictures to give a florist a visual clue of what you want. However a florist should have a bunch of pictures of prior arrangements to give you an idea too. I really thing this guy has no idea what he is talking about.
Reply:I suggest you go to a different florist. Florists are supposed to be able to provide you with suggestions and alternatives.

It is true that hydrangeas will wilt--they are water loving flowers. However, all they need to do is put them in the water filled vials and wrap that with ribbon and they should be fine. In addition, flowers can be dyed and hydrangeas do come in light blue.
Reply:Go to a different florist and get their opinion. Don't settle on what one tells you.
Reply:A friend of mine had the same problem. If the hydrendas are not hydrated the blooms will start falling off at any shake of the bouquet. She ended up using fake ones and no one could tell the difference. I only realized they were fake when I took the boutineer off my fiance's tux jacket.

Trust me no one will be able to tell.
Reply:Hydrangeas simply need to be capped with little water filled pods on the stem, this is what my florist is doing, then simply bounding those in the ribbon and pearls being used on my bouquet. She is right they will dry out, but any competent florist would know there is other options. I suggest you find someone a little more expert in their field.

Buy the way the hydrangeas that are blue are called lace cap blue. At least the ones I am using. I read your question yesterday and actually pulled out my florist guide of all the flowers she could get for me, these are the two nice pale blue flowers I found.

    Blue Ballonflowers

EDIT: No she is a florist, she should be able to give you the correct color, even if she has to over order to get you the correct colors. There are various species that don't get very dark. You should defiantly at least just look around at other florist this woman doesn't seem to know her craft at all.
Reply:Just like if you didn't like the first opinion at Doctor get a second opinion. It is your wedding. You should be happy. If you want something, and it is in your budget, someone can make it happen, I guarantee it. You will always do have a better chance of getting what you want if you have a picture of it. The amount of money you're going to spend matters as well because if light blue and light pink flowers are out of season then you're going to spend WAY more money than you think to have them brought in from another country. • How do the chemicals that change the color of hydrangeas work?

Ok so i know that hydrangeas growing in more acidic soil will be blue as long as there is aluminum present, which can be done by adding aluminum sulfate, and hydrangeas growing in more alkaline soil will be pink as long as there isn't a lot of aluminum present, which can be done by adding dolomitic lime. But does anyone know of any websites that i can find HOW these different chemicals change the color, like the chemical process and how it affects the color pigments in the flower? THANKS!

    Need suggestions for wedding flowers....?

Hi all! You've helped me before so here I am again. :)

My wedding colors are Azalea and Blue Velvet (bridesmaid dresses are from David's Bridal in those colors) and my accent color is silver. I have 4 bridesmaids and we have 4 groomsmen (this does include Matron of Honor and Best Man). My girls are wearing the same dress but two in Azalea and two are in the Blue velvet. The groomsmen will be wearing the matching vest of the girl's dress they are walking with. On the top of my dress there is silver lace etching so my fiance will be wearing a silver vest to match me.

We are trying to not go too expensive and I definitely would like fresh flowers.

I am meeting with the florist on Saturday and would just like to go in with some kind of idea of what could be in my budget.

Any ideas for those colors would be greatly appreciated!

    Need suggestions for wedding flowers....?
get dipped roses. im having a bunch of colors in mine, but i want a lot of white too. what im doing is getting fresh white roses and having them TIPPED in all my colors. that way you still see all the white, but looking at my boquet, you see color accents on all the roses. im also using some gladyolas, they are so pretty and wedding-y! good luck!
Reply:Your florist is the best person to give you advice. I'm sure you'll have color swatches with you, and that will help in making your decision. Your colors sound lovely.

I don't know what the shades of blue are. In my daughter's wedding, her bridesmaids wore "navy blue," but it was more of a subtle, lovely "toned down" royal blue. It wasn't the dark, somber color that we all know as "navy."

She, too, was on a budget. Her bridesmaid carried 3 white roses with sprays of blue delphinium and accents of long, slender lariope grass. The boquets were tied with sheer, white ribbon in a pale ivory color to match the roses. They were lovely.

There are many pretty, suitable flowers that will not wreck your budget.

    I'm sure you'll have a beautiful wedding!
Reply:Just explain the situation to the florist. They will use larger flowers in the colors you specify to keep costs down.

If you allow them more wiggle room, and don't come in with a specific idea, you'll get a better price.

Remember, you are paying for their expertise. If you're not confident in their abilities, go somewhere else.
Reply:For something different, you could have the bridesmaids carry a bouquet of only fresh baby's breath. I think that would be beautiful.

And you could do the same and put some silver and blue accents in there and use a silver or blue ribbon to wrap the bouquet.

Congrats and best wishes for a happy life!
Reply:blue hydrangeas. They look beautiful in pictures. You can mix in some greenery and white stephanoctis (sp?) with maybe some white calla lillies or roses. I think there is also a variety of blue peonies. Blue irises are gorgeous as well. Remember, the flowers can be a complimentary color. They don't have to be blue or have blue elements if you don't want them to, but here are some beautiful bouquets I found on theknot.com. You can search by color. Reply:Ok apparently I'm the odd ball. I don't think with that much blue you should carry blue flowers. I think it should stand out against the dresses.

Canary yellow flowers would pop against those dresses (especially the blue velvet).

Perhaps a blush pink rose arrangement.

I really like the konfetti roses (i think thats how they are spelled). They really pop

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/jeffclow/35...

With the azalea being so bright a color (love it btw), perhaps do a muted flower like the purples/blues they had above. Or a more blush rose with only the tips pink. I think its a Nicole Floribunda rose or a Gemini tea rose.

Calla lily is a very popular wedding flower and comes in all colors too. I used flame tipped calla lilies in mine. It also had bear grass in the arrangements. I love arrangements with the different grasses.

But they also come in the bold yellow like this

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/airchild/44...

Plus for your bouquet you could get some in that exact same bold as the azalea dress

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/ahardcastle...

Plus they are normally in white so you can have white as well in your bouquet or for the bouts.

Of course since the dresses are so different in colors, they probably shouldn't all carry the same bouquet. It should probably be very different for the blue velvet as the azalea. Those are both so eye popping that if you can, I'd take a fabric swatch of each dress to the florist so that you can show him the colors. If not, at least take your laptop.

    Hope this helps!

Are dandelion leaves(the ones that are in your backyard and everywhere) good for blue tongue lizards (10point)
Dandelion leaves would be one of the better greens to give your blue tongue lizard. Dandelions have over 103 mg of calcium per cup compared to romaine lettuce which only has about 20 mg of calcium per cup..

    http://www.carrotcafe.com/f/calevel.html

Just wanted to add, it will only count towards the leafy plant matter part of it's diet. It will still have to have other veggies too.

Here's a good guide to read through,

Here is something that I would like to add though. Make sure if you are getting them from your yard that:

They have not been sprayed with any insecticide or any type fertilizer has not been used on or near them. Else you could very well poison your lizard.
Reply:Lizards LOVE dandelions, and they are very good for them.

BUT, I wouldn't be so keen on feeding the ones from your hard. The problem is people use chemicals on their grass, and it can grow into the plant causing it to be toxic.

You would be best to grow your own indoors. Although, I've been able to find them at a few organic stores.
Reply:humans can drink dandelion tea and take dandelion pills so i have to say, it sounds fine for your lizard!
Reply:Dandelion leaves will not do ur lizard any harm! Yes it counts as leafy plant matter, and (just to be sure i checked up on teh internet) and 1 of my friends used 2 have a blue tongues lizard and apparently they love them! Hope this helps! x

I am trying to find out how to identify two figurines?

Both appear to be porcelin and both or about 8 inches in higth. The male is playing a flute ,wearing bob style pants and leaning against a tree stump. The Female is holding a basket of flowers and leaning against the same type of tree stump. both have a round base about 3 inches with the number 6054 in blue ink stamped undereneath the bottom, There is a gold leaf or swirl at the base and 5 small tic marks past the leaf on each ( appears just decrotive but not sure. ) they are both very detail and dainty.

I am trying to find out how to identify two figurines?
If the stamp is legible, try looking on eBay to see if anyone is selling anything similar. Otherwise, you are going to have to go to an antique dealer to get some knowledge out of them. One other place you could try... there is the Antiques Roadshow where they identify, date and price objects, maybe they would want to help you out. Probably the best way to get info is to go to the Barnes and Noble and look through the Antiques/Collectible books....they have lots of references and you can sit in there and browse to see if you can find your items.

    2) What color? - Please read the additional information below

    3) How many of them? (Some people say a dozen is perfect, other people say odd number always work great... i'm confused.)

    4) What would be sweet to write on the card?

Hm...for some additional information... She's just one of my friends, we're not in a romantic relationship. She wore sky blue dress on the prom day...(which is my favorite color by the way!)

    I guess that's it.

Thanks, and please know that I always give 5 stars to the best answer!

    Flowers for my prom date?
It is wonderful of you to want to send the girl you went to prom with some flowers. I don't think I ever heard of anyone from my graduating class ever receiving flowers a year after a prom in rememberance of the time. You don't say if you are wanting to get back together or just want to say friends. The color would determine this. If you want to get back together something in red or pink. If just friends something in yellow. As to the number I would say just a dozen or half dozen would be fine because that shows you really care for her or like her. Odd number has nothing to do with it. As to what to say, you could write, "I just wanted to mark the day of our prom date where we had such a wonderful time."
Reply:Have red suronding one white one! [rose] Report It
Reply:you should give her a lily flower. it should be pink cause most girls like pink. and on the card you should say something about prom, like ''oh i had fun with you at prom'' or thanks for coming with me to prom'' something like that. and how many flowers should depend on how much you had fun.
Reply:well good to hear this, ok well write something sweet but short like a little wish or something, and pink roses would be better, and put one red rose in the middle of the bouquet, and get a 11 pink and one red, hope this helps and wht acoincidence sky blue iz my favorite color too!
Reply:Send her three red roses with a special note. Write something nice and she will be thrilled to death if she likes you.
    Reply:hmm...qood question.

    yea i'd say roses.

    12.

i like the white roses.but thats just me.

a cute lil poem on the card.a simple line.us girls always go for that stuff.

    aw!thats so sweet btw!
Reply:match the flowers with her dress bro. only get red flowers if youre trying to get your freak on. carnations are the norm, roses too. get her some exotic flowers, lillys are awesome and look great on a girls wrist. purple tigerlillys are excellent man.

    on the card write,

Thank you for making my night the best ever.

or something corny like that. shell love it.
Reply:Perhaps the flowers you gave her at prom OR do something skyblue... though blue flowers are hard to find. I'd suggest hydrangia, because they have some AMAZING sky blue colors. Be wary of any flowers that are colored... they don't last long. You can tell they are colored with food coloring if the stems have dashes of color through them. The number really shouldn't matter.

For a card, you'd want a card for friends, and say something sweet. Perhaps remind her of how much fun you had and what a great friend she has been over the years! Perhaps the photo or cover of the card could contain one of her favorite subjects (animals, flowers, sports). Really you know her best so follow your senses!
Reply:I think you should go with a red rose. Also I would go with about a dozen of them. I really can't say what you should write on the card. Let it come from your heart. I hope i answered your questions!
Reply:if she is just your friend and u dont want it to be nothing else do not self her flowers and get the signals mixed up a simple thanks will do or a card saying thanks as well flowers might give her a mixed signal and she might think tha you like her as a gf

Advice about preventing color ink from fading on my first tattoo?

I want to get a floral design on my inner thigh with bright blue, purple, pink/red, orange and green with a black outline and maybe some white inside the flowers for shading.

Since the placement of the tattoo will be covered 95% of the time, I don't think sun exposure will be a major problem. I heard certain colors such as white and orange fade and disappear. What brand of ink is the best to keep color from fading?

Also, I'd like to have a tatt with glow in the dark ink but have heard bad things about it. How long would it last? What are the negatives?

Advice about preventing color ink from fading on my first tattoo?
If you have a myspace account go to Kat Von D's husband Olivers page and he has all kinds of info on there that can help you. I used his methods on my last tat and it looks sooo much better than the other ones I have. Good luck and enjoy your new ink
Reply:use a good sunscreen when it is not covered. lots of lotion
Reply:i got a orange tiger on my bk an i used Vaseline for the 1st wk after ad it dun as that's wot i wr told an iv ad it dun bout 4 yrs its fine, but ull prob have to get it recoloured every few yrs I'm afraid, i think UV ink lasts a few yrs
Reply:when i got mine (and it has a lot of colors), the first month i washed it with antibacterial soap and didn't dry it with a towel, 'cause towels have dead skin cells which could affect your tattoo. instead, dry it with paper towel.

the first 3 days, you'll have to wash it a least 3 times daily. after doing so, put a thin layer of A+D on it (but only for the first 3 days, this is a strong product). after the 3rd day, just use a skin cream that has vitamin A and E. i got mine 5 years ago and to this day i still apply cream to it everyday, and the colors are just as bright as the first month.

regarding the ink, most of it are vegetable ink which has minerals and other stuff we have on our skin, so don't worry much about that. just make sure you find an artist who can make your design exactly as you want it. i you take care of your tattoo, you'll never regret having it.

What kind of flower pot would be cool for this kind of person?

For an end-of-the-year gift for each of my teachers, I'm painting a flower pot. However, I have no clue what to paint on my Language Arts/Reading teacher's flower pot. I'll explain her and you can give me some ideas.

    - She likes snowboarding and blading (in the winter.)

    - She likes Jack Russels (she has one.)

    - She likes the color green.

    - She doesn't like flowery things or girly colors (pink, lavender, light blue.)

    - She likes to play Scrabble (but she isn't absessed with it.)

    - She's really funny.

    - She likes gardening.

Those are the things I know about her. It's pretty sad I only know that much because she was my sixth grade teacher, my 7th grade Reading and Language Arts teacher, and my 8th grade Reading and language Arts teacher. I have three main teachers because at our school, we don't have a different teacher for each subject- there aren't enough classes and teachers for that, it's a Catholic School (there are ten people in my class, including me.)

It would be nice if anyone could give me ideas (pictures are also VERY HELPFUL!!!)

    Thanks in advance!

What kind of flower pot would be cool for this kind of person?
What a wonderful idea. I loved Laura's idea of spelling something out in Scrabble letters. if you have these letters you could glue them on with a craft glue.

Maybe have an outdoor scene with different seasons, one being winter with a person on a snowboard, maybe spring with a Jack Russel with a gardening glove or shovel in his mouth..like he's running, summer could be her screaming "School's Out For Summer" (make her hair look kind of crazy or her hands waving or her dancing...show movement), fall could be an apple with "The Best Teacher Ever" on it...maybe that could be the Scrabble part.

If this seems hard you can always decoupage it. Decoupage is when you basically glue pictures, cut outs from magazines, buttons, little trinkets, Scrabble letters...anything on it and then put a thin layer of glue over it.

    Good Luck!
Reply:I would paint scrabble letters that spell out positive and motivational words. Maybe even words that would motivate her as a teacher like education, learning, imagination. You could paint your background green if she likes the color.

By the way, very thoughtful gift for you teachers!
Reply:How about a few flowers with a green background?

  • Is it ok to wear the follow dress to a wedding?

The wedding is next weekend, in the afternoon.

I found a dress that is very "sping" like. It is an off white color with light blue and tan flowers on it.

I know I am not supposed to wear white and I completly forgot.

    Help?!

Is it ok to wear the follow dress to a wedding?
Do you have a picture of it? If the flowers are big and take up a lot of the material space so that white is just really the secondary background color I would think that it might be ok, but if the flowers are small and you mainly see a white dress, I would say no.

I would also say this, if you are unsure, err to the side of caution and get another dress, the last thing you want to do is commit an extreme faux pas like wearing white to a wedding when you are not the bride, so if you cant decide, then just dont wear it.

Post a link to a picture of the dress so we can see.
Reply:That sounds great, shrug or not. Any patterned is fine, that doesn't "count" as white.
    Reply:It sounds perfectly fine.
Reply:It'll be just fine - it sounds more floral
Reply:The dress sounds fine. I mean you arent showing up in a full white long dress. I would think that people wouldnt mistaken you for the bride... Is it short or long? that would make a difference too...
Reply:I would return it and get a new dress. Even if you got that blue shrug, youre not going to want to wear it the whole time, but you will feel self-conscious when you dont.
    Reply:sounds fine to me
Reply:As long as it's not solid white or wedding dress like that sounds fine.
Reply:I think that you should be able to wear it. It's not like you've got an all white dress. It's off white with BLUE and TAN flowers on it. You're fine! I wouldn't worry about it. Maybe find some light blue shoes to match.

Edit: I agree with the more recent person to answer as well, post a picture. Better idea then! :)
Reply:As long as it is an off white color it should be fine. The traditions have kind of fallen off. You aren't suppose to wear black and red along with white to a wedding, but people do. So go ahead and wear that spring dress.

Where can I get information on antique creamers made in germany?

cat creamer or kitten blue with hat and small flowers on it.

a pelican or crow creamer with tux on with a eye glass on left eye

Where can I get information on antique creamers made in germany?
Is there a maker's mark printed on the underside? If so, do an Internet search for that name. Sometimes you can just type in "cat creamer" and there may be information out there for you. There are also some sites on collectables that allow you to write in specific questions. Try "Ruby Lane".

    Morning glories?

Again I see this last frost thing.. I am in zone 6 and I am looking for like a point in a month that would be safe to plant these seeds.. I am also trying to think of a flower that would look good with them that doesnt grow so high.. The seeds that I have are supposed to produce blue flowers.. so something thats either blue or white that would coordinate well? Thank you!

    Morning glories?
You are safe to plant morning glory seeds in the ground somewhat before your last frost date, I've done it 2 or 3 weeks earlier (in zone 4) and they've done great. Many varieties self sow which means those seeds are in the ground all through the long cold winter. I do recommend soaking yours overnight though. They take a while to germinate anyway and the sooner you get them started the sooner they'll bloom.. The blue ones especially seem to take forever to start blooming though they are worth the wait. They also aren't as invasive or as likely to self sow as other types.

As far as what to plant with them, if you're looking for perennials tall garden phlox which comes in many shades, including white, would be lovely, as would Balloon flower (Platycodon, Fuji Blue). Moonbeam Coreopsis is a pretty, soft yellow and doesn't get as tall as either of the other two. Actually all 3 would look great together with the morning glories.

For annuals you might try annual salvia in the Victoria Blue variety with maybe Carpet of Snow alyssum. The salvia only gets about 15" and the alyssum is a groundcover so if you want more height than that perhaps look at Cosmos. I think the Sensation mix would look terrific but it is shades of rose and pink as well as white. You can get just white though too, and that would be a pretty, airy screen in front of your morning glories.

Well, I could run on and on. I love thinking of plant combinations. It's one of the best parts of gardening. If you want more ideas feel free to e-mail me. Oh, and don't let anyone tell you not to grow morning glories. They are entirely manageable if you just stay on top of them and, like I said, I doubt you'll have any trouble at all with the Heavenly Blues. Enjoy!
Reply:If you have never grown morning glories before, be careful. They can get out of hand and take over everything and be impossible to get rid of. I inherited a morning glory problem and it gets worse and worse each year, no matter what I try to curtail it.
Reply:the morning glories you are talking about are an annual plant and do not get out of hand. there is a wild plant also called morning glory ( take all, field/hedge bindweed, and some other names, local names) there is also a short variety of the same type plant
Reply:forget-me-not is a blue flower and they come up every year and they are beautyful they will go well with your morning glorys.

    Tiffany Blue Wedding?

I want to use tiffany blue in my wedding. I don't want to go over board with the Tiffany's theme. I'm thinking of doing a tiffany box cake and card box. Everything else and I will just use that color.

What color can I match it with for a summer wedding? I'm looking for attire details, reception ideas (mainly table set ups, centerpieces, flowers, etc) I'm also looking for stationary details.

I'm not really looking for favors. I've decided to do a candy buffet w/ blue chinese takeout style boxes.

Any links to ideas? Have you been to a Tiffany blue wedding? Ideas Please.

    Tiffany Blue Wedding?
Tiffany blue is gorgeous... and you have so many options!! As mentioned above you can pair TB with pretty much any color you like. In my experience, pairing TB with silver, or white is the best!!

I had a bride who had tea-length real simple TB bridesmaid dresses... her girls carried hand-tied bouquets of white daises with silver accents in the flowers. It sounds so simple, but it was gorgeous.

Some table scape ideas... well that really depends on how you invision your wedding. One of my brides used antique candleabras (silver) with candles and those blue glass chips that you can purchase to put into vases scattered on the tables... another bride used beach glass (pieces of glass that have weathered in the ocean/lake) in containers with all different size candles in the middle.

TB is hard with flowers... because there are not many flowers that are naturally blue. Therefore you must pick flowers that accent the blue rather than match it. I recommend using wild-flower looking bouquets in very pale colors... with alot of greenery. Sage and TB are GORGEOUS together. ...

As for your stationary... I am very simple when it comes to invitations... having a plain white invitation with a TB accent ribbon would be elegant and sophisticated. I love Jean M. (www.myjeanm.com)

Hope this helps, I could go on forever.. let me know if you'd like more ideas!!
Reply:Saw this done on a show the other day... They used red roses as accents and it was very pretty. But I also like what another poster suggested. BROWN - it's definately in right now.
Reply:Someone on the show Whose Wedding is it? I think that the name of the show. They did a Tiffany blue theme wedding. They had accent color in red with like flowers in the background. It was really pretty. They had Tiffany Blue boxes that they put candy or something in. U might want to check out the archives of that show. Hope this helps u out.
Reply:I agree with chocolate brown- those two colors look great togehter.
Reply:Chocolate brown....seriously...look at a chocolate brown and tiffany blue together...its beautiful...and chocolate brown is a big thing nowadays...i did my baby shower in blue and chocolate brown and all the decorations and things I did for it came out absolutely beautiful....so instead of just reading thing and going...eww brown...look at the colors together...they make for a beautiful elegant wedding...and it will still look summery!

Reply:Pair it up with an espresso brown or a daffodil yellow. Both would look wonderful, without looking too girly for your fiance.
    Reply:Yellow would look very summery.

Perhaps add a grassy green for accents.

If you want brown I would go with tan or champagne. I think chocolate brown would look too much like fall.

    Purple is another option.

If you want something unique and sophisticated go with a red-violet or an apple red.

Adding orange would be a completmentary color scheme and the two colors would pop off each other for a more intense look.

The best advice I can give is to go to the hardware store. Get a bunch of paint chips then go home with your fiancee and pull the colors that appeal to you then try them together until you get the mood you are looking for.
Reply:I am doing a Tiffany blue shower for my sister, Tiffany. I have the Tiffany box cake. The table centerpieces are two boxes diagonaly stacked wrapped in the TB wrapping paper with a big white bow. We even got little faux engagement rings to sprinkle on the tables as decoration. As far as bridesmaid dresses, I think that chocolate brown, silver or even black would complement the color.

When being invited to a wedding, would it be ok to match the dress to the brides themed colour?

Shes having the bridesmaid in pink (brides flowers also pink) and groom in a delicate beige. However, even thou i have no role and just as present as a guest. When coming to buy an dress for the occasion, should i follow the theme, or dress a different colour. If so, please recommend me a link for a nice dress, thats ideal for mid - 20 blonde blue eyed. Skinny size 8 and top heavy. Any links would be appreciated.

When being invited to a wedding, would it be ok to match the dress to the brides themed colour?
I wouldn't recommend tieing it it with her theme - they should stand out not you - you can still look glam in a different colour - black everyone looks good in that - or a nice blue would look great with blond hair and blue eyes! Have fun
Reply:hi, i would suggest noto wear colours that the bide or bridesmaid are already wearing. wear something different.look on the kaleidoscope website. it would look as if you are competing with the bride and her bridesmaid.
Reply:No. that is definitely not okay. If it is a spring wedding then wear pastels or another color. You should definitely not wear black unless it is has another bright color or is paired with some bold jewelry. Also, wearing white is a no-no- you don't want to compete with the bride or her bridal party.
Reply:no i dont think that you should wear a dress that is the same color as her brides mades. That is for them to stand out. It would look like you wanted to be in the wedding.
Reply:wear whatever you want. most wedding guests have no idea what the wedding colors are until they get there anyway.
Reply:i suppose you can, but don't think you have to. i have never even had that thought when going to weddings. i would just go with something nice that makes you feel good %26amp; not worry about color coordinating to the wedding theme
Reply:No, that's the height of rudeness. You are a guest. Guests NEVER wear the same color as the bride/bride's party!

What's your budget? Nordstrom? Saks? Needless Markup? Macy's?
Reply:If you are not part of the main wedding party then select your own colour and not that chosen by the bride. Perhaps a dress and summer coat in pale blue to match your eyes. Your top heavy bit would be disguised with the coat as you certainly don't want attention drawn to you and away from the bride. Be subtle and get more compliments.
Reply:o my gosh if you are going to be in any pictures, you might as well be relatively color coordinated with the rest of them.
Reply:No, that would be tacky. If you are not in the wedding; then please do not wear the wedding colors. Also, in the old days you were not supposed to wear white, red or black to a wedding. Get something different that you can wear for other occasions. Maybe get something in blue or green or a print. Not sure what your age is but the bubble skirt is a big fashion trend this year.

What time of day is the wedding? Evening weddings are usually formal or semi formal.

Nothing too bare, short or revealing. This is the bride's day and she is the one to shine. Maybe a nice sheath dress with a little bolero top or a sundress with a shawl
    Reply:don know

but leave your own weddin dress at home

    it ain't your day
Reply:in my humble opinion its the brides day so dont wear anything that will clash or have eyes moving your way.
Reply:Please dont match up your outfit with the bridal party!

Its her day and you'll be detracting from the Bride and her bridesmaids etc.

Choose something you can wear again, and something thats a colour you'll be comfy in...but doesnt match the bridal party!!!!
Reply:No..... only the bridesmaids are allowed to match the brides themed colour. Choose something else
Reply:don't compete with the bride, or her show.

Black is always a good choice.
Reply:Dress in something other than pink and perhaps buy yourself a pretty suit that you can get some good use of later ... maybe pale blue velvet ... and wear a flower ....
Reply:I think you should ask the bride because it's her day and if she is okay with it then I think that would look beautiful.
Reply:No...I Don't think you should...As a guest I think you will blend in with the bridesmaids but not in a good way...

As blond haired, blue eyed I think your colours would be Blue and Pastel Colours. Try to choose a dress which is appealing but doesn't look better than the brides dress...it is her day after all.

Sorry I can't provide a link as I am in a hurry typing this....

For the girls My date is wering royal blue dress wat should her corsage look like and wat kinda tux i need?
You should wear a black tux with a bow tie the color of her dress.

and for the corsage, i think u should get her a nice pink flower...pink goes nice with blue these days
Reply:wear a royal blue tux ....for the corsage...you should go where ever your going to order it form and ask the person working there what color should be the flowers and how big it should be...I think you should have white flowers in there no matter what
Reply:A standard, traditional tux, no tails, etc, will be just fine. I am sure it varies in different areas but around here, the guys seem to avoid bow ties. A nice blue vest to match her dress would be lovely. The safest thing is to ask her what kind of corsage she wants, wrist or pin on, and what kind of flowers she prefers. White roses always look nice. You can have the ribbon on the corsage match her dress and perhaps a bit of dyed babies breath to match.
Reply:get a white or cream corsage umm...flower..rose, lilly, japanese tulip.and a black tux, wwhite shirt, and a blue tie!

Maybe a yellow flower could go nice. Blue and yellow are good. Or white flowers. Like..white roses. Or yellow daisys..I dont know! What types of flowers are used for corsages!??!
Reply:Yellow flowers!! That is very romantic. You don't have to get roses either, get a mix of things!

Its better to go with the white it matches with any color

For yourself something like this with a royal blue tie

    http://www.russotux.com/promtuxedos/russ...
Reply:Classic Black Tux with white shirt. Wear either a silver or royal blue tie to match her dress and pick a white flower.
Reply:i would go with a white flower and gold trimmings/ribbons. maybe a white rose or carnation.. whichever one you like is really what you should get. or ask her what her favorite flower is, and then get them if they have them in white.

you should go for a black tux with the same color as her dress for a tie, or for something that will stand out in a classy way, wear a white tux or a cream tux with her dress color tie. DO NOT wear a blue tux. NOT EVEN if it's navy blue. it's too much. but if you want to stand out a little, go for the white one!

good luck, and tell your girlfriend she picked a beautiful colored dress! i hope your prom is awesome.
Reply:just wear a classic tux. and maybe a lilly. Possibly a white rose with the tips died royal blue. Just make sure that it isn't big and that it will match her dress. Absolutaly don't get anything with alot of pollin because it could ruin her dress, and don't get colors like red, orange, yellow or like purple. Maybe you can just get her a white orchid or a pink one, they are very elegent.
Reply:you want her to be the focus of the evening, well then go with

a black tux and match your tie the exact blue of her dress.

Get her a bracelet corsage, this way the dress won't have any

pin holes from attaching the corsage to the dress. I believe

white roses blend beautifully with anything, as your tux shirt will

be white, do not get a blue one,,,,too much blue already...her

dress, your tie......I think both of you will look absolutely

    beautiful.....HAVE A GOOD TIME....

Do these flowers look good to you?

I'm thinking white Narcissus and Blue Larkspurs. I'm still uncertain about how the florist should arrange them.

Do these flowers look good to you?
very pretty! if it were me i would have the white flowers with a few blues mixed in as the center of your bouquet with all blue surrounding them! [it will stand out much nicer against your gown].

your attendants bouquets could be the same or have the flowers mixed together for another pretty look!

however you choose to mix them i think your flower choices are lovely! happy wedding!
Reply:Personally I don't like the combination, but I guess it also depends on the occasion - what do you want to use these flowers for?
Reply:Have a bunch of blue Larkspurs in the center and on the outside white Narcissus, then intertwine/ woven white, butter cream, and royal blue satin trailing down the bouquet.
Reply:I'd say for those flowers have like 3 or 4 blue ones in the center then have some white ones surronding them. It will look very nice.
Reply:They're nice. maybe put the blue ones in a group, like around the tables? and then white around the blue. so it'll contrast
Reply:HI! I found the following pictures by typing them into an image search engine. So, if they are the correct flowers, they're beautiful! Personally, i would do a rounded bouquet of the white flowers with blue flowers put into the white bouquet in a messy organized way. The third link is a picture similar to what I'm talking about, the main color with the second color spread throughout. No matter which way you had them arranged, these beautiful flowers will look great together. Congrats on your upcoming wedding. And good luck!

    Customerservice?

I purchased a laura Ashley comforter and I haven't had it very long(6months),when I washed it ,the material has pils on it and since then I have washed it again and I see more. I have to tell you that I am very dissappointed in the quality of the set. I buy your merchandise because I had faith in the name and quality. The comforter set is white with pretty blue flowers.

    Customerservice?
First of all, your washing machine is not big enough to wash your comforter making the washer have to work extra hard to wash something of this size.

You should have taken it and spent a little extra money to have the cleaners to clean it. It would have prolonged the life of the comforter by them cleaning it, and you would not be experiencing pilling all over it.

Aqua Blue and lemon yellow wedding?

Hi. Ok I am getting married in July 2009. Even though it is a summer wedding, our ceremony and reception will be taking place inside. The website to our reception and ceremony site is www.celebrationsweddings.com- I really like the aqua blue/tiffany blue color. Also, I really like the idea of using lemons for centerpieces since it is bright for summer and lemons are cheaper than flowers. Therefore, I am considering doing a aqua blue/tiffany blue and lemom yellow wedding theme. I would use the blue for the linens and then yellow as the accent color. How does that sound? Do you think that is a nice color combo? Anyone have any pictures that I could use for ideas for the wedding? any ideas at all would be nice. Thank You.

Aqua Blue and lemon yellow wedding?
I think that sounds lovely! I found this online and thought it may help.

Also, check out www.marthastewart.com for ideas.

    Good luck!
Reply:I really really like that! Even a cornflower blue and bright yellow would look great together.

I think that it is a refreshing color palette together. The lemons as centerpieces would look great. I would do something like the sliced lemons in a square glass bowl with white cheap flowers on top or something...

    Very pretty!
Reply:lol those are the colors I used for my first wedding....it was a summer wedding and it looked so pretty, fresh and sunny, ( my blue was a sky blue with the lemon yellow),especially with the white of my wedding gown...and I married the last sat in june as well.......good choice and I know you'll love it...good luck.
Reply:I think a cornflower blue and a nice pale yellow would be better and more timeless. in a few years you will look back at pics of at bright yellow and aqua and think, that looks really outdated.
Reply:My first thought was EW!! But then I remembered that Blue and Yellow are healing colors together. I agree with the woman who said, check your blue shades carefully. A purplish blue will go so much better than a greenish blue!
Reply:That sounds lovely and I think you are on the right track!

For linens, I would do white tablecloths and add your pop of color with the napkins (aqua) and centrepieces (yellow).
Reply:That sounds too bright for me. I think Tiffany blue would look better with lime green, and then you could use limes instead of lemons for your centerpieces.
Reply:It sounds really nice... I like the idea of Lemon centerpieces too, it will be different!

    Good luck! :)
    Reply:Just lover-ly!

Are blue and silver colour themes too cold for an Autumn wedding?

My fiance and I aren't keen on oranges (traditional autumnal colours) and both of us are big fans of the sea %26amp; watersports, so we were thinking of a blue / silver theme to our wedding - his tie / flowers / any ribbons etc we might have.

Do you think these colours would be too cold at this time of year? We're hoping to get married around the Gold Coast, perhaps North or South Stradbroke Island?

As I'm a Brit, I'm not really sure what the weather / temp is like over there in Autumn (April to be specific)

Are blue and silver colour themes too cold for an Autumn wedding?
April is a funny time on the Gold Coast. Can be warm or freezing - just depends on your luck!

I say, if you like the colours blue and silver, then go with what you like.

If you're going to be near the ocean, the blue will be gorgeous.

Reply:I would think so, because Autumn is my favorite time of the year, as you can tell!! If you like the colors blue and silver, then use them colors!! It's a wedding! It's not like your dressing up for Halloween!! Or you could do this to balance out the both!! You could have your wedding cerimony in blue and silver in the church, or where every you are having the cerimony, then decorate the place, where you go and party with your family after getting married at, with the Autumn colors!! That way you are not stuck, having to decide what to do!! I say, it's your very Happy day, in getting married to the women that you love, so you really should do what ever makes her happy hon!! Congrates man, and be good to her, and she'll be good to you too!! Take care!!
Reply:I love the silver/blue combination. To keep it a bit warmer, go for a darker, richer blue instead of a light blue. I think a royal blue would be great, or even a midnight blue.
    Reply:You do what you want.

It sounds like you have bigger decisions to make before setting the theme.

  • What lullaby did you sing with your children?

I always sang "Dreams are the flowers that bloom in your heart" because my mother always sang that to me. :]

It goes "Close your eyes, sleep is more than it seems

Soon you'll discover a garden of dreams

A blossoming tapestry lights up the dark

    Dreams are the flowers

    that bloom in your heart

Rose dreams are red like a new valentine

Violets are blue 'cause they're sad all the time

Daisy dreams shine like the sun in the park

    Dreams are the flowers

    that bloom in your heart

So dream and bloom, bloom and dream

    And watch your garden grow

When you awaken with a smile

    Everyone will know

    You've been to dreamland

    and now you've returned

Eager to share everything you've learned

Believing in dreams isn't really so hard

    Dreams are the flowers

    that bloom in your heart"

    What about you?

What lullaby did you sing with your children?
My dad always sang to me "In The Jungle/Lion Sleeps Tonight" and we loved it.

And when he couldn't sing, he had the tape (which is where Im sure they got the idea to sing it to us).
Reply:Well...i was bored with the same "Twinkle Twinkle" and "Row Row Row your boat" and all the other regular lullabye's so i started singing "Baby's Got Back."

    and you can not lie

    you other brothers can't deny

that when a girl walks in

    with an itty bitty waist

and a round thing in your face

    you get sprung!"

    From a world, far apart

    So deep is the night

    Oh lonlely night

    On broken wings

    My love has taken flight

    And left a dream

In my dream our lips are blending

Will my dream will be never ending

Will your memories haunt me till I die

Alone am I, deep into the night

    Waiting for the light

Alone am I, I wonder why

    Deep is the night

I did the usual "Braham's Lullabye" and a Lithuanian lullabye that my mom and grandmother sang to me and my siblings. I was also partial to "Angels Watching Over Me".

In Harvest Moon: a wonderful life how many hearts should you have before you propose?

I am playing Harvest Moon: a wonderful life on PS2 and it is special edition. I am giving flowers to Celia almost everyday, but I don't know what else to give her. I peeked at her diary and there are 4 pink hearts. The forest sprites already gave me the blue feather, so I am ready to propose. It is the summer right now. What else should I give her and when should I propose?

What do I say with flowers?

OK, here's the situation. I've been having lunch with a woman at work for a few months now, although she's always busy when it comes to going out for dinner (and she has been genuinely swamped lately). Yes, I know chances are that means she's not interested, but I can't get her out of my head. Just finding time to chat with her is usually the highlight of my day, I think she's just about the prettiest woman I've ever seen, love her sense of humor, her laugh, and she has the most amazing blue eyes. Anyway, I wanted to send her flowers, just to make it obvious that I'm interested in her in more than a "friendly" way, but I'm at a loss as to what to say in the personal note. I don't want to pour it on too thick as we'll still have to work together afterwards, but I do want to make it clear how I feel about her. It might not be possible to have it both ways, granted. Has anybody else been in this situation, and, if so, do they have any advice?

What do I say with flowers?
to the prettiet woman i have ever seen

i hear your laugh whenever I dream

the twinkle in your eyes of blue

there's no one more beautiful than you

i've been thinking about you for hours and hours

i hope your not allergic to these flowers

i can't wait till I see you again

maybe someday we can be more than just friends
Reply:send the flower and ask her out,and see how things will go from there
Reply:How 'bout: "I love our lunches together and I can't stop thinking about you the rest of the time"?

Hey, if she says no, it might be a little weird or whatever, but at least you'll know where you stand.
Reply:Can you send her the flowers, but not at work? That may draw some unwanted attention and gossip from others, and it might make her uncomfortable. I think it a sweet idea, but you probably don't want to bring a workplace relationship to the "next level" for all eyes to see--- in other words, keep doing lunches with her when you can, and keep the gifts of endearment for outside the office.

[♥]What do yah think of this poem that my friend wrote?

Summertime exudes the brightness of the sun.

Blooms flowers; numerous colors different in tint.

The heat emits from the heat waves, makes eyes squint.

Until the pursuit of the dog days are done.

Then, arrives the winter, when the sun shelters its glow.

Leaves falling, running away from the oaks.

The artic breeze, causing people to wear cloaks.

As they ramble on the gloomy, dull, peaceful streets of snow.

Winter, when the cheerful mood of summer goes

Away and everything looses its spark.

When the sky alternates from bright blue to gray and dark.

Summer, when butterflies aviate and green leaves grow.

Winter, briskness and glee are what it clearly seems to lack.

Until the summer comes along again, briefly bringing it back.

[?]What do yah think of this poem that my friend wrote?
i like it! tell her she should keep it the way it is! tell her she has real potential!

    good luck!
Reply:omg its b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l two thumbs up to your friend
Reply:ohmigod thats soo amazing!! don't change a thing
Reply:Well...it's not "bad"...but it could be better. First of all, flowers don't bloom in the Summer, they bloom in the Spring. Also, heat doesn't emit from heat waves...heat waves "are" heat being emitted and rising...and it's not the heat waves that make you squint, it's the level of sunlight. The dog days of summer are those after July 3rd...so that part is okay. However, then you say, "then arrives winter"...wrong...then arrives "fall" or "autumn", THAT is when leaves are falling...by the time winter comes around all the leaves have fallen. Then you cycle back to Summer straight from winter again, saying things start to grow...wrong! that's Spring. So, if you're going to do a season poem, just put in all the seasons. Your images are good, they're just out of tune with nature...which is a bad thing for a nature poem. Just fix it...your vocabulary is okay, so get to it.

    and keep writing

Why are women expected to only have small nonvisible tattoos?

I'm just wondering why men expect women to have small tattoos that can be covered up. I have 4, but I chose to have a black phoenix on the inside of my forearm tattooed as a memorial for my father (he had a blue phoenix on his arm when he died). I later want to add symbols for "Father" tattooed near the bird.

I haven't really gotten any negative feedback from it, but I just noticed that a lot of people on this forum think that women should only have them small, cute in nonvisible locations.

Do guys prefer small cute tattoos like butterflies and flowers on women, or do some prefer that the tattoos have some kind of meaning? I'll never regret mine, but I think it's unfair that my father was covered in tattoos without anyone questioning him, yet some think it's "unusual" for me to have a large tat in a visible spot like my arm. It's a bit of a double standard. Your thoughts? Thanks for answering.

Why are women expected to only have small nonvisible tattoos?
Personally I don't see any reason why men and women should be treated differently with regard to tattoos. But I agree with you, there's often a double standard. It also often comes out in the many, many questions which purely ask whether women with tattoos are still attractive, as if a woman's only role in life is to be looked at by men.

I think that very often the people who believe that 'small cute' tattoos are OK on women but larger ones aren't probably just haven't given it all that much thought from this angle. They have a sort of vague idea that tattoos are 'unfeminine', and that women should therefore only get 'cute' tattoos to counteract this, without having really considered the implications of these ideas - the fact that it suggests that a woman's main function is to be attractive, to appeal to other people, to be non-threatening; that she's a visual object rather than a human being with a head full of valid, interesting, unique ideas. Which I think is pretty sad, really.

In some ways I actually find this halfway-house suggestion that teeny-tiny flowers and hearts and butterflies are OK on women, but nothing else is, even more irritating than those people who just don't like tattoos full stop. Although I do like tattoos, I don't expect everyone else to as well. But the whole point of tattoos is that they can express anything you want them to, and to suggest that women should be restricted to certain subjects, sizes and placements when choosing their tattoos in order to 'fit in' is really hypocritical. There's nothing wrong with flowers, butterflies and so on; they can make great tattoos and if someone does want them, that's fine. If that's the tattoo someone truly wants then it's great, in fact. But I suspect that in some cases women are half-heartedly driven to get these kinds of tattoos for fear that if they got anything more individual and personal, people would ask too many questions and look down their noses, and that's such a shame.

So what I would say is, well done you for getting the tattoos you wanted! The more people do that, and show the world why it's important, the less 'cuteness' will be the main issue, and the better off we'll all be.

    Hope this helps!
Reply:because tattoos do look trashy on some people but on others they dont just dont get something fake like if your a rich boy and your parents give you everything you want dont get a "thug life" tattoo but what your talking about sounds okay just be happy with what you get
Reply:huh??? they have visible tattoos too.
Reply:I agree with jck, the people who matter don't mind and the people who mind don't matter
Reply:it's a completely stupid double standard.
Reply:because women don't need decoration to be beautiful
Reply:I think it depends completely on the person and who they hang out with.

I don't like tattoos on men or women, but that's just me, and that shouldn't have even the smallest impact on you.

Ultimately, you have to do what makes you happy and choose what looks good to you, and that's the best choice.
Reply:I don't happen to be a fan of tattoo's but can accept them being on men better than on women.

I think if you get a tattoo it should be somewhere on your body that can be covered up especially at work. I know some work places don't care but at the office I work at if you have one it had better not be visible.
Reply:I don't think women are expected to only have small nonvisible tattoos. I have 3, one huge ankh on my back, a star on my wrist and a big heart on my ankle. And I've never gotten any non positive feedback from them. I think you should get a big tattoo if you can handle it. physically and and socially. *shrugs* hope that made sense.
Reply:There is definately a double standard but don't let it bother you. If you are going to have tattoos, especially the kind that are different, then you have to go into not worrying about what others think.

People also target women for the most part when it comes to the whole "when you get saggy and old" issue as well.

Just let it roll off your back! Your tattoo sounds wonderful.
Reply:there are tons of people who don't think your having visible tattoos is unusual or wrong. once upon a time it was unusual for a woman to work outside of the home. once upon a time it was unusual for a woman to not be married by the time she was 21. times are changing and one day it won't be unusual for women to be proudly tattood and accepted by the majority.

Hello my name is blue i want a new horse . and i want to bye it but my stuben old dad wontget me one wat do do
We have to learn that in this life we can't always get what we would like. The other suggestions about finding a job and buying, or at least offering to help to buy, a horse are good ideas. Maybe you could just go to a stable and help out for free to show how interested you are in horses. Remember though, that it's not just the cost of buying a horse, you also have to pay for stables and feed, also vet bills if your horse becomes ill.

VeronicaB, before you start dissing people about their writing, I suggest that YOU learn to spell,

the right write is write not wright.
Reply:Hi. I know exactly how you feel. When I was a kid, I begged my parents for a horse but they thought they were too dangerous. Are you old enough to work or volunteer at a stable so you could demonstrate to your Dad how serious you are about a horse? You didn't say why your Dad said no. Is it because they are expensive? If that is the case, you may have to wait until you are old enough to work. Is it because horses can be dangerous? Your first horse should be older and "kid safe". Don't make the same mistake I did and buy a horse based on looks alone. In the meantime, ask your Dad for riding lessons! Good luck. Someday you will get a horse, I did.
Reply:You have to get a place to store the horse first- like a stabel.
Reply:I would advise your dad to give you a hard slap for being such a spoilt little brat.
Reply:ask him if will at least let you take riding lessons %26amp; work on a farm so you can be around horses
Reply:Hi Blue, When I was a little girl I wanted a horse so much that I couldn't think of anything else. My friends thought I was weird. Don't give up your dreams. The idea of working at a stable is a good one. There is a lot you have to learn about horses. If your Dad sees that you are committed to riding and that you are responsible enough to take care of a horse, he might change his mind. You must realize that a horse is a huge responsibility. If you have a pasture you still must feed him twice a day, insure that he has at least 30 gallons of water every day, worm him every 3 months, have his teeth floated, and his hoofs seen to by a farrier. You don't get to leave him alone because you are bored with him either.Your dad knows you better than we do, and he probably has good reason for saying "no". Study about horses for now, take every opportunity to be around them. If you can find rental horses(like at the beach), get your dad to take you riding. Have you ever ridden a horse? After your dad sees you fall off and then get back up on it's back, maybe he'll see you are ready.
Reply:well that isn't gonna work, also quit being a little lazy butt! get a job, work, save money thats what i did and i'm about to move my paint in today. so good luck

and calling our dad "stuben old dad"? stuben isnt even a word.. learn some spelling first..

anyhow its not up to your parents to get you anything other than food shelter and clothing... you can save your money and move out and buy whatever kind of horse you want then.. horses are expensive and its not something you can "beg and beg" for - infact if you really wanted one you would go out now and get a part time job to help pay for one...

I wanted a horse when I was younger too.. eventually moved out and bought 4
Reply:Your dad is not stupid. Horses cost money (feed, vet bills, farrier bills, boarding fees, etc.). I know I've owned horses. I suggest if you want the horse that bad find a job and save up the money yourself. That what I did when I got my first horse, my parents would by me one. I have owned four horses since. Also go find a stable to work at. A lot of stables will hire people to clean stalls and groom horses and often times will have horses that they will let you ride when your done with your work. I no longer own horses but I work with horses everyday at the racetrack I work at and the trainers I work for sometimes let me ride their pony horse when I'm done. Its a way for me to enjoy horses with out the financial burden of owning my own horses.
Reply:get a job, collect cash and buy it for yourself. if your family has no money then dont be such a selfish prat....diy:)

    by the way:

i want to buy a new horse, stubborn old dad and so on:) learn to wright for Gods sake:)

Reply:save up enough for the horse that you want
Reply:your father is NOT stupid just becuase he won't give you what you want right now. He may have very good reasons:

    1) your family cannot afford to buy and keep a horse right now

    2) you may not be responsible enough yet to own such a noble animal

    Tonight’s Thoughts

This is SWEET CAROLINE coming to you once again on our “Nightly Radio Show”. My show tonight is a little more solemn than usual because of thoughts that came to me when I went home a couple of evenings ago. I was listening to a SONG SUNG BLUE and it sure fit the feelings that were going through my head.

Have you ever sat back and really looked at our world today. It AMAZED AND CONFUSED me to think how many wars and how much hatred still goes on and for what reason? There is no logical reason. Oh they say a lot of it is for religion and God. Well I’ll never understand that one. Will you? Why can’t we all just appreciate each other’s culture and beliefs? God is who we all want Him to be individually and I don’t know any real God that isn’t love to those who worship Him so why do so many argue and fight over their God?

Another song came on and as I listened to YOU DON’T BRING ME FLOWERS ANYMORE and my thoughts once again wondered off the actual words to my own meaning. There are plenty of flowers being brought all over the place for so many wrong reasons. Flowers left on roadsides where someone was killed by a drunk driver or gunned down for no reason. Look at the news in the war zones and we see all kinds of flowers being carried by mourners or on caskets of not just one but many caskets going to their resting place. Flowers are alive and so beautiful but too often they are being given for the wrong reason.

Why can’t we all be like countries such as AMERICA and Canada that live free to worship and live the way we want to. Oh I’m not saying there isn’t any hatred, racism, and crimes in either place but most of us want to love, be helpful, and friendly to our neighbors don’t we? At least that’s what I believe.

I did a lot of debating to myself about bringing this to our “Nightly Radio Show” but your SWEET CAROLINE thought “yes, I AM,” I SAID to myself out loud, “I’m going to toss it out to my nightly listeners and see what you have to say about it all so call in and let’s hear your opinions on the subject and as we talk may God bless us all.
    Reply:I like Neil Diamond
Reply:"I am (amazed AND confused) over the way you just sang that. Hadn't we agreed to do this song country? Why are you rapping it?"

Vic looked up at the stage where his star ingenue glared down at him.

Ah (sweet Caroline)..or used to be sweet Caroline. She would bring flowers to his dressing room with a note of thanks for giving her a chance at stardom.

However, after their first broadway success, she'd become a she-devil of sorts, screaming at everyone and her demands! She was starting to become a liability.

Vic muttered to himself. '(You don't bring me flowers anymore)."

"What?!" screeched Caroline. "I can't hear your mumblings Vic speak up!!"

"I SAID.." Vic yelled. "I thought you said you were going to sing the song country style!"

"(I am, I said) I was going to sing it country...country rap style! Get with the program Vic, this isn't your childhood village from God knows wherever you're from. This is (America)! We do things with style here!"

"What the..?" Vic took a deep breath. She bought the audiences to the play, but God help him he was this close to firing this abnoxious little - -

    "I was thinking John.."

Vic glanced up. Caroline was talking to the piano player.

"I've decided we''ll be needing a new number for this act. Do you know the song (Sung Blue)?"

"Um, yeah. You mean the one by -- ?"

    "Hey!! Whose the director here??!!"

That was enough. Vic climbed the stairs to the stage.

There was about to be some big changes to his play. Sweet Caroline was outta here!!
Reply:My song is sung blue because your love for me is no more.

That is why I sit and cry on my bedroom floor.

I'm amazed and confused that you could be so cold.

I am, I said, more than you've been told.

Once I was your sweet Caroline with whom you walked upon the shore.

But alas, you don't bring me flowers anymore.

And though we both resign in America, the land of the free.

I am your captive, still hoping you can again love me.

Yes, I'm back. :) I was to busy to check the answers thing for a while.
Reply:No, I mean, Do Your Own Homework!!!!

    Edit: Here's the story

    ==

Town square, Dodge City, was a great place to have a square dance. Festus was a-tuning up his fiddle, and U.S. Marshall Matt Dillon was getting things ready for the party, which was about to start.

Caroline Taggart approached Matt, carrying a large cake. "Baked it myself, Matt. You be sure to have a piece, y'hear?" she said.

Matt dipped a pinky into the frosting at the bottom. "Sweet, Caroline. Put that on the table over there," he said, pointing. "I hope you'll do some singing for us later," he added.

"Oh, you'll get your song sung. 'Blue is the color of my true love's eyes,' is the one I'll be singing." She flashed him a dazzling smile. "How come you don't bring me flowers any more?"

"Oh I'm saving all my flowers for Sunshine. She's my flower girl, and I love the flower girl," Matt flashed a dazzling smile of his own. "My Sunshine, she's the finest gal in all of These United States of America." The dazzling smile changed to one of fond reminiscence.

    Caroline made a moue.

"Oh, don't pout now," said Matt. "You'll still be singing for us, won't you?"

"I am, I said I would," said Caroline. She walked off, rather huffily, to put the cake on the table.

Festus shook his head. "Matt, I'm just amazed and confused at your ability to attract them womenfolk and push them away at the same time."

    Matt laughed.

Festus stage whispered, "Hsst, Don't look now, here comes Miss Kitty."

    Edit2:

I think I may have said something derogatory about your country. You'll have to judge.
