To use round up or not to use round up?

I live in central georgia and the grass is still in the dormant stage,but the weeds are not.I have a weed that has a small blue flower like bloom.It is about 3 to 4 inches high and is in patches in a few places in my yard.With my grass still in the dormant stage will it hurt to spray the weed with Glyfos X-tra herbicide with 41% Glyphosate.

Sounds like you have creepin charly or ( ground ivy ) i have had a few bouts with it and i think it is killed better when it is activly growing when it has flowers on it hope this helps.
Reply:use a weed killer . round up is made to kill everything including your grass.
Reply:Some organic alternatives are boiling water directly onto the weed, or vinegar, directly on the weed. If you don't have large patches where you can get to them all, the organic route is best.
Reply:Round-up is designed to kill greenery, including grass. Spray weed killer instead of a weed %26amp; grass killer. Ortho has been successful for me if I use 1/2 strength more than the concentrate recommended. As long as you don't super saturate any area, it didn't even damage my new grass. - - I experimented with various strengths for 3 years %26amp; this solution worked the best for me.

Reply:I have read that the best way to apply such chemicals without killing the surrounding vegetation is to apply it with one of those spongy paint brushes... you know the ones that are black and really cheap. I would think that is a sensible solution as long as you are talking a few and you don't mind bending, stooping, or crawling around on the ground. Hope that helps!
