I am having soooo much trouble picking out flowers and accent colors for my september wedding..the bridesmaid dresses are cornflower blue, which I am now kicking myself for because it is a hard color. and i dont like blue flowers really???? ugh!! please help...what colors would look good for my wedding !!

Colors that go with cornflower blue?
Yellow looks awesome with the cornflower, or you could do a darker blue, or cream....either way I would do cream and yellow flowers, hand tied with cornflower colored ribbon. Hope this helps good luck and congrats
Reply:to my mind the soft pink (like in this bouquet) will be perfect as it is very romantic and in september it will look nice at wedding

Reply:My main color is blue as well and I am using hydrangeas. I think they're beautiful and easy to use. I would look it up on the internet. They look beautiful in bouquets, centerpieces, and even on the cake. That was the only blue flower I liked as others are either really small or too bright and look purple.

The color I went with as an accent color was called latte. It's a lighter brown. It looked good with my colors because my dress is ivory and champagne and the latte color matched the campaign.

If I am remembering right, cornflower blue is a brighter blue?

I can think of a few combinations:

cornflower blue and purple

" " pale yellow

" " green

" " burnt orange

" " white

Good luck. I would just look up ideas on the internet of blue weddings. That's what I did. Also, ask your/a florist for ideas.

Best of luck to you!

Reply:Awww..please don't stress! I'm the mother of the groom in a wedding in September and JUST found out the color the mother of the bride picked, so I get last choice. I chose cornflower blue because it goes with the MOB's dark maroon with hint of navy long gown, the bridesmaids and MOH are navy long gowns and the flower girl has a white gown with navy trim. The other color is silver but haven't heard of it any wear in the tuxes yet.

So, the wedding is outdoors and at The Dallas Arboretum. The bride chose all white flower bouquet. I would have chose a mix of all the colors plus some yellow, red, purple because they all go with the theme colors. She chose all white because it was less of the stress thinking about colors.

Good luck. Congrats!
Reply:Hi and congratulations!

Don't stress! What I tell brides is to NOT try to match the color of the dress AND the color of the flowers. It's too "matchy-matchy" and you want something that contrasts and stands out from the dress.....not blends into the dress.

September is a beautiful month. Why not go with some reds, yellows, even oranges! You want something to "pop" against the dresses. Look at this photo, I think these dresses would be cornflower blue and they have lovely arrangements of bright colored flowers:

Also.....go to your florist! Get their recommendations. You don't need to try to figure it all out before you go to the florist. That is their job! They do weddings every weekend. They will be able to help and guide you.

Hope this helps!
Reply:pale yellow for sure
Reply:pale yellows and creams !!!
Reply:Add ivory or pale yellow or both
Reply:For an "almost" fall wedding, why don't you use a lot of greenery (i.e., ivy, the petit-pointe small type) and I think some bright colors, even a little orange, with white, yellow, maybe a few daisies thrown in. Really, cornflower blue is a beautiful color. Remember it is almost purple...so you could even pair pinks with it, i.e., pale pink rose with some purple statis... but I would do lots of lacey green foliage. I think that looks so beautiful and classy for a wedding.
