I think these black cone flowers will make a nice contrast against all the other brightly colored flowers I am planting. And work w/the blue flowers to 'cool' down the yellow, red --warm colored flowers.
Anyone in the NY area grow these successfullly? TY :o)
are they easy to grow? do they prefer sandy soils or what?

These should do fine in NY, so long as you take care of them. The hardiness zone goes from 3 (very cold) to 9, down in Florida too.
