find a friend or someone you trust to draw something cool for you and take it to a tat shop. they'll let you know what size they can do it. you could have them draw something up but they may charge you extra for it. Think about placement too. it's good to do some research too. go to a few shops and see what their artists can do/ have done. most of them have books with photos. you may see something you like in one of their books.
Reply:Tomi, I can certainly understand the sentiment behind getting your daughter's name on your body, but I don't think it's something you will forget. My recommendation would be to wait a little. See if you feel the same way about it in two years or if the feeling has subsided or gotten stronger. Remember that it is permanent so you don't want to get something that you will want to change or alter in the future.
Reply:happy?
Reply:Get what you like.

It doesn't matter that much. because in 30 years time it will just look like a dark smudge- whatever it looks like to start with!!!

Oh , and don't forget , how children love to copy their Mums-is this what you want for her??

Try putting the money in a trust fund for her instead- then she can do something useful with it, she knows you love her, you're her Mum!!!

Reply:Think about it long and hard

Its permenent, if you don't know what to get don't get anything you might regret it

A tattoo has to be personal.
Reply:Why not save your money and spend it on your children.
Reply:if taht is what you want go ahead and get it but make sure the person draws it up for ypou just incase it isnt what you wan t because they are pernament and can stay on your skin forever but do u mean ur birthday is april 18th if it is so is mine

Reply:i understand you wanting your daughters name- its sentamental but in about 20 years or whenever you get all wrinkly it will look horrible. but if you were to get it DO NOT get it in the middle of your back on the bottom it is a Tramp Stamp.

i recommend you putting it in your daughters trust fund or college fund. she will apprieciate it later in life and so will you. you will feel better about it. but it is your choice. choose wisely.
Reply:Dont listen to these naysayers! Tattoos are awesome. Im 21 and i have over 14 tattoos and 12 piercings and somehow manage to not look like a freak lol. Anyway i agree with the people who told you to think about it very hard. Most importantly check out several tattoo shops in your area.Find one that suits you best.Make sure its clean and the people are knowlegable and kind. Also find the right artist. Talk to them, look at portfolios see if the specialize in a certain style of art that you would like your tattoo done in.

Then the best bet would be to work with that particular artist to draw up your tattoo.Make sure you have someone draw it up that ways its custom and you wont EVER see anyone with the same tattoo.
Reply:If I were you, I would go with something that will reflect your personality.
Reply:Make sure you get something meaningful that you won't regret in 5 yrs. It's good to get something small, and maybe get it somewhere that will be easily covered - you're only 20 - think of your future and career. Do your research and make sure you go to a good artist. I did the opposite when I got my first tattoo, and it sucks.
Reply:Think hard about it. A tattoo is for life. I know that if I was tattooed at 18 I probably wouldn't have liked it as much as when I got it done. What I would do is pick something you like and sit on it for a couple of months. Wait it out. Eventually the tattoo decision making gets easier as you learn more about your artistic taste and the tats you already have and how each one helps represent you and helps represent each other.
Reply:The best tip I can give is if your not sure what to get or where to get......don't get one yet!!
Reply:I have several tattoos and I definately regret a few from when I was younger. What I did with the tattoos that I know I'll always want is to decide on something and then wait one year. If you still want it in a year, then there's a better chance you'll want it for longer, permanentely.

Definately don't pick anything off the wall. If you're getting art on your body, make it something that means something to you. Do your research and look into several different styles. You'll thank yourself in 20 years.
Reply:I would first suggest that you find a tattoo shop that is respectable and speak with an artist personally. Tell him or her what you'd like to get [try to bring examples if you can] and work with the artist to create a design you like. I definately do not suggest picking one off the wall as they are meant for inspiration and not designs. Make it unique and personal. And something that you won't be horrified by in the distant future.

As a sidenote, any tattoo that is dedicated to your child is awesome and worth getting! I have a tattoo that represents my daughter and I couldn't be more satisfied with the decision I made =)
Reply:If you are etermined to get a tat you might want to consider having it placed where only those intimate with you will see it, such as on the inside of your thigh, on your hip below the waist line, or on your back or above your breast where it can't be seen when you are dressed.i have two, one on each forearm that remind me to pray so that i don't exact my terrible justice on those who i think need to be punished.
Reply:I don't think that this is a question that anyone but YOU can answer. Tattoo's are PERMANENT. Make sure that you go to a couple of tattoo shops before you decide on one(just sit back and watch). There are some really good and some really crappy artist out there. I have a tattoo going around my ankle (like and anklet) with the names of my 3 kids. I wanted something that I wouldn't regret later in life. This question is truly something that you have to answer on your own. It is YOUR body and you will have to look at it for the rest of your life!! Maybe you can have your 2 yr old help you decide between 2 or 3 designs--then she can be more to your tattoo than just her name!! Much Luck!!!!!
Reply:You're nuts. Tattoos reek of trashy.
