Is there a flower that is naturally dark (almost navy) blue in color?

A friend is helping to plan another friends wedding and her colors are dark blue and champagne gold (dark blue strapless long satin dresses with champagne gold sashes around the waist). She didn't want to have any silk flowers so I was just wondering if there were any flowers that are naturally dark blue.

Is there a flower that is naturally dark (almost navy) blue in color?
You can find blue hues in many types of flowers: hydrangeas, irises, lilies, violets, etc.

However, I would like to give one reccomendation, I wouldn't use flowers that are the same exact colors as the dresses. If so, they will just blend in! The bouquets are used to compliment the dresses and the colors. They should stand out to a certain extint, if they just blend and aren't noticeable, then why waste the money on them at all! Try different shades of blue and goldish that would be a nice compliment to the dresses!

You could take the dress to a florist and discuss the different options that would look nice. Even if you plan to do the flowers yourself, many florists will still order the flowers for you in bulk, and since they order such large quantities on a regular basis, they may be able to get you a price break and end up cheaper than ordering them yourself. Also, another option is to go to www.theknot.com and look at picture of their Real Weddings, and see what some people used with those color combinations!

Good luck!
Reply:Like people said, irises come in every color imaginable as do roses! Check out this website for rose varieties.

PS: Light antique blue hydrangia might be a lovely accent to the dresses as well.
Reply:I used the same color of blue in my wedding recently. I couldn't find anything as well. I did go to Hobby Lobby or a Craft store and found a few artificial ones that were dark blue, and maybe they will know the name of them.
Reply:I would use White flowers like Lillies or gardenias with navy and gold ribon.
Reply:This website has lots of photos of different flowers. You could maybe have a look to see if anything matches. There are a few that are dark blue

Reply:Roses are red, Violets are blue....

So violets? lol
Reply:there are some beautiful irises that are almost black...but kind of a VERY dark purple.

this is one of many sites that list flowers by color: http://static.naturehills.com/blue/

that might be helpful.

but you can also call or go to a florist and just talk to them about what's available. remember the time of year and location of the wedding will dictate what type of flowers you can use. some don't do well in heat - and will look wilted. other simply won't be in bloom and will cost an arm and a leg to have imported.
Reply:You might be better off finding the champagne colored flowers, like Calla lilly and using the correct color blue for the ribbon trailing down. Or use Champagne colored roses and a dark delphinium or dark blue iris as a touch of blue. Most blue flowers are more purple than blue and would be hard to match navy blue. You can also add rhinestones in navy to any bouquet. Best wishes...................
Reply:You can find irises that are dark blue! They're real pretty.

:)
Reply:im not sure if there are or not, but i know that white flowers such as roses can be dyed, by putting colouring in their water.
