The flowers are small and in clusters and the berries are the size of small blueberries and are similar in appearance to blue berries. The berries grow along a central stem. The plant was found growing in a shady area under decidous trees.
Please help me ID a plant I found in MI. It has red stems, large smooth leaves, blue berries and white flower
A picture in this case is worth a thousand words!
When does the flower bloom? how are the flowers arranged (in a corumb? individually?) How large is the shrub? (or is it a shrub?) perennial?
It could be pokeberry, a perennial weed. Flowers are white, in a panicle, berries are green, ripening to blue-black, also in a panicle. They are said to be poisonous. Stems are often reddish in color.
It could be some sort of dogwood (Cornus), though blue/black berries aren't the norm, there are species with those colored berries. It could also be some sort of Viburnum as far as shrubs go.
If you have any additional info. please let me know, I'd like to help you further...
