Last summer I saw a home where someone had grown what I think were morning glories in the most beautiful display. It looked like they had several wires or strands of twine secured to the ground at one end, with the other other end sweeping up at an angle, and attached to a porch or tree. These beautiful blue flowered vines were climbing this "trellis", sweeping about 8 feet. Has anyone seen this? Is there any trick to doing this? Does anyone have a picture of this type of display?
Has anyone seen this awesome way to display morning glories?
You can use Bird Netting for this. You get it at most L%26amp;G Centers. You can cut it to shape with scissors and use a staple gun to hold it in place. Depending on the size they may get pretty heavy so you may have to brace it from underneath later in the summer. I use morning glories on an arch. It makes quite a display.
Reply:No trick, just a stake in the ground and a hook or eye on the porch. Could it have been a clematis instead of morning glories? If so, maybe there was thin mesh in between each wire to support all the stems.
